The actor has rarely spoken about her marriage on social media, and that choice is deliberate.
Taapsee said she has never felt the need to share anniversary posts because she considers those moments personal. Turning them into a public announcement or a series of photographs doesn’t feel natural to her.
The couple registered their marriage in December 2023 and later had their wedding celebrations in Udaipur in March 2024, away from the spotlight.
Even the guests at the wedding were asked not to share pictures or videos online. Taapsee revealed that everyone who attended received the wedding pictures within 24 hours, but there was no strict no-phone rule.
Instead, she and Mathias simply requested their friends, family and guests not to post anything on social media.
One wedding video did eventually surface online. Taapsee called it a “sad situation”, explaining that it involved people who weren’t directly invited by the couple but had been invited by members of their family.
For Taapsee, keeping her marriage private seems to be less about hiding it and more about keeping something meaningful for herself.
And after 13 years together, her view of what makes a relationship work is refreshingly simple: security, respect, support and companionship.
