Actor Kwak Si-yang and Yoo Ji-ae, a former member of K-pop girl group Lovelyz, have surprised fans with news of their marriage. The couple announced their plans Thursday, revealing that they had quietly built a relationship away from the public eye. Their marriage news came as a surprise, since the two had never been publicly known to be dating.Kwak shared a photo of a handwritten letter with fans on social media, explaining that he wanted to personally share the news.“I have met someone precious whom I want to spend the rest of my life with,” he wrote. “Based on our trust and love for each other, we have promised to walk through life together.”He said the two hope to create a warm home where they can support one another through difficult moments and share plenty of happy ones together.Kwak also thanked fans for their continued support and made it clear that marriage won’t mean stepping away from acting. He said he plans to show a more mature side of himself while continuing to take on new projects and performances.Yoo shared a handwritten letter of her own that same day.“I have met someone with whom I want to share my future, and we have happily promised to make a new start together,” she wrote. She acknowledged that the sudden announcement may have caught fans off guard, but asked them to celebrate the couple’s new beginning warmly.
