Ravi Teja’s latest release, Irumudi, has emerged as a major success at the box office. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the emotional drama was released in theatres on August 21 and has reportedly crossed the ₹200 crore mark in India. While the film continues its theatrical run, its digital premiere has now been officially announced.
‘Irumudi’ OTT release date and streaming platform
Irumudi will begin streaming on Netflix from September 18. The streaming platform officially announced the release date through its social media handle on Monday.Sharing the film’s poster, Netflix wrote, “Watch Irumudi on Netflix, out 18 September in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Explore Irumudi, along with all your other favourite South Indian films and shows by searching for ‘Southverse’ on Netflix.”The film will be available to audiences in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
About ‘Irumudi’
Irumudi follows Trinadh, played by Ravi Teja, an alcoholic father who decides to undertake Ayyappa Deeksha for the sake of his daughter, Manikanta, portrayed by Baby Nakshatra.As part of the religious vow, Trinadh must give up his vices and remain non-violent. However, circumstances force him to protect the girls in his village, placing him in a difficult situation. The film explores his emotional journey, his bond with his daughter and the challenges he faces while attempting to remain committed to his Deeksha. Ravi Teja’s performance has received appreciation from audiences, particularly for the emotional depth he brings to the role of Trinadh. The film also features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar, Sunil, Ramesh Indira and Swasika Vijay in key roles. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music.

‘Irumudi’ box-office performance
Reportedly made on a budget of approximately ₹40 crore, Irumudi has delivered strong returns during its theatrical run.According to Sacnilk, the film’s total India gross collection stood at Rs. 209.60 crore, while its India net collection reached Rs. 180.40 crore on Day 24. The film’s overseas gross collection was reported to be Rs. 22.45 crore, taking its worldwide gross collection to Rs. 232.05 crore.
