In a video shared online by her nephew and head of security, Bryan Seaver, he revealed that Dolly Parton wished to be laid to rest with her rhinestones. In the video, he shared, “Dolly was a farmer, just like her daddy. He farmed the soil. She farmed songs and happiness. Dolly called me and said she wants to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton because after a life wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and have some rest.Page Six also confirmed that Parton’s family is planning a small funeral for the singer in Nashville in the coming days to celebrate her life. People close to the singer would be attending the private event. The outlet also reported that Parton had requested this herself. She will be laid to rest right next to her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, who passed away in March last year, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville. Parton started her career in Nashville in the 1960s and met her partner in a laundromat in the area as well, which is why the funeral procession will be held there.Seaver also shared in the video that this announcement was “something Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality.”

Other than that, the singer had also recorded a secret song called ‘My Place in History.’ The unreleased song is currently sitting in a wooden box at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The star wrote and sang the song specifically for it to be released on her 100th birthday in 2046.
