The 10th edition of the Women’s Asia Cup begins in Dubai on Friday, with eight teams competing in the T20I format. The tournament will run until September 13, with all 15 matches to be played in Dubai.The eight teams have been divided into two groups. India, Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong are in Group A, while defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the UAE and Indonesia make up Group B.The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The two semi-finals will be played on September 10 and 11, followed by the final on September 13.Sri Lanka will try to defend the title they won in 2024, while India will look to regain the trophy. How did the Associate teams qualify?Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand and the UAE earned their places in the Asia Cup through the 2026 Women’s Premier Cup.The Premier Cup featured 18 teams. All four qualified teams topped their respective groups and then won their quarter-finals to secure a place in the Asia Cup.For Indonesia, this will be their first appearance in the Asia Cup. Hong Kong, meanwhile, will return to the tournament for the first time since 2012.India-Pakistan clash on September 5India and Pakistan will meet on September 5 in what is expected to be the main group-stage match.India have won 14 of their 17 T20I meetings against Pakistan.Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh on September 6 in another Group B match.
