‘How can I ask for such huge amount?’ 'KGF' actress Srinidhi Shetty dismisses Rs 8 crore salary rumours

Srinidhi Shetty has once again found herself in the spotlight, this time over reports about her alleged remuneration. Reports suggest that the ‘KGF‘ actress has been demanding around Rs 7-8 crore for a film. However, Srinidhi has now directly addressed the speculation and dismissed the reports. The actress, who has worked across Kannada, Tamil and Telugu cinema, said the figure being discussed online does not reflect reality.

Srinidhi Shetty clarifies Rs 8 crore remuneration report

Speaking about the salary reports in a chat with NTv Telugu, Srinidhi Shetty questioned how such a large figure could be attributed to her when she has appeared in only a limited number of films. “After the success of the ‘KGF’ films, they say that I am asking for Rs 7 to Rs 8 crore. I have acted in few films so far. When that is the case, how can I ask for such a huge amount as remuneration? So, it is just a rumour,” she said. Her clarification comes amid renewed interest in her career choices following her appearances in major South Indian projects.

Srinidhi Shetty says money is not her priority when choosing films

The actress also explained why she has maintained a relatively selective filmography despite gaining pan-India recognition with ‘KGF.’ Srinidhi Shetty said she could have taken up far more projects if earning money had been her primary goal. “If earning money was my only goal, I could have acted in 30 to 40 films over the last few years. But I do not sign films just for money. I give priority to good stories and quality characters,” she said. Her comments underline the approach she has followed since the beginning of her career.

Srinidhi Shetty continues a selective film journey

Srinidhi Shetty made her breakthrough with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 1 and returned as Reena Desai in ‘KGF: Chapter 2.’ She later appeared opposite Vikram in ‘Cobra’ and Nani in ‘HIT: The Third Case,’ while also taking up the Telugu film ‘Telusu Kada.’ In an earlier interview, she had similarly said that she wanted to be recognised for her art rather than money and preferred a good project even if the remuneration was lower. Her latest comments therefore fit into a career strategy that appears to place stories and characters ahead of simply increasing her film count.
