Indian benchmark indices opened higher on Tuesday, with the BSE Sensex rising around 400 points and the Nifty climbing above 23,500, despite persistent concerns over elevated crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Oil prices rose above $100 a barrel as attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure disrupted the kingdom’s East-West pipeline and renewed concerns over supply and shipping risks in the Gulf. Brent crude rose 1.18% to $106.93 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) gained 1.24% to $102.65.

Asian markets traded mixed in early deals. Japan’s Nikkei gained 0.8%, while Australia’s ASX 200 fell 0.9%. Investors also remained cautious after an overnight sell-off in artificial-intelligence stocks, keeping AI-related shares in focus.
